The other day, a state government in Nigeria led by an intuitive Governor, saved the life of a civil-servant friend of mine!
How?
The ongoing policy on comprehensive medical checkup of its workforce, revealed two life threatening ailments - worse than HIV - that the individual never knew about!!
A "living" corpse.
When told, I was speechless.
For me, this is one of the few but unpretentious government gestures that ordinary people are yearning for. Period.
This is creative governance, that go beyond road construction and the
so-called bore-holes installation that some false leaders make noise about.
Nigeria can do it. Those who can do the job are here. We know them.
Of course no government and it's drivers could score a perfect mark but there is a positive shift in this one.
But for providence that threw up this particular leader at this time...only God knows
