All around us abound the litany of infamous woes about the geographical space, Nigeria.
They could be scary, worrisome, hopeless and helpless. With no head nor tail; to get out of the logjam.
But in all things, be it: systems, ideologies or various convictions of faith, we are simply going through our own unique evolutionary stages.
(That is not to rule out our own influences of the natural course of events and things because as Man, we have been given the power of choice and collaboration with nature to ensure the good, the truth and love)
A state of Utopia, no group of people can attain because of the shortcomings of the flesh. But strive, we could.
All countries of the world without any exception have been evolving at various stages but in varied steps.
Some will survive while others will become extinct; taking a cue from Charles Darwin.
Some would struggle through and finally raise their head above water eventually, heralding an applause from other watchers.
Some would ape others and get things done, relatively fast with profound effectiveness ; rather than going through the tortuous journey of reinventing the wheel!
Some would evolve too fast - in shining armor - but suddenly die off, like a flash in the pan; with little trace of remembrance but with only a whimper of existence (all they can boast of).
So where was "the USA"? Where is USA? Where will USA be?
In the same vein, where was China? Where is China? Where will China be?
And ah, ha, where was Nigeria? Where is Nigeria? Where will Nigeria be?
Bringing other nations of the world into focus, one may ask this set of questions?
So what picture will Nigeria paint in the nearest future?
Evolution, Man and the Creator will do justice to that answer (the proportion of influence or engagment of the aforementioned, nobody can really say)
As for the 120 million people or so and counting - with nowhere to emigrate - no doubt, the picture will become clearer to us within half a decade.
Where we will be, we can only haphazard a guess. And we may be close to the right answer. We may. We may also miss the mark of accurate prediction.
This is not to say, all should be left to the elements by accepting the fatalistic approach. No!
But nature will take its course as we are merely pieces in a game of chess; but life and providence always beat Man to it, Always.
But we have a role to play being partakers to ensure we smoothen the prevailing tortuous journey.
We can do within our immediate circle of influence.
We will get somewhere ultimately rewarding but certainly not without paying a significant price!
It will be better. How? Nobody can say.
